Welcome Aboard

New Worker Orientation

Welcome! This orientation will walk you through everything you need to know to get started, get paid, and grow as an independent contractor with Aloha Maids. Please read each section carefully.

1. Understanding the Business Model

Aloha Maids is a domestic referral agency, operating under California Business & Professions Code Section 1812.509.

This means:

You are an independent worker, not an employee of Aloha Maids.
Aloha Maids refers you to clients who need house cleaning services — we do not direct or supervise how you perform your work.
For each job you complete, you keep 60–70% of the job price on average, paid directly to you.
Because you are independent, you set your own approach to the work, use your own equipment, and are responsible for your own taxes and business expenses.

This model gives you real independence — you’re building your own cleaning business with our support behind you.

3. How You'll Be Invited to New Jobs

Once you’re onboarded, Aloha Maids will send you job invitations as new clients in your area become available.

You’ll be notified with the job details — date, time, location, and service type — and you can accept jobs that fit your schedule and area.

The more responsive and reliable you are with accepting and completing jobs, the more consistently we’ll be able to send new opportunities your way.

4. Logging Into Your Profile (Automaid / L27)

You’ll use Automaid (L27) to manage your work with Aloha Maids. Through your profile, you can:

View your upcoming job schedule
See job details (address, service type, client notes)
Update your availability
Make changes to your profile information

If you ever have trouble logging in or navigating your schedule, contact your regional support number above and our team will walk you through it.

5. Flat Rate vs. Hourly Service

It’s important to understand the difference between these two service types, since they affect how a job is priced and how you’ll be paid:

Flat Rate

The client is quoted and charged one set price for the entire job, regardless of exactly how long it takes. Most standard and recurring cleanings are flat rate.

Hourly

The client is billed based on the actual time spent on the job. This is typically used for larger or less-defined jobs, like deep cleans or projects where scope isn’t fully known upfront.

6. Getting Paid: Settlement of Fees (SOF)

To get paid for completed jobs, you must submit a Settlement of Fees (SOF) online at https://alohamaids.com/sof.

Submit your SOF on Sunday. If you miss the Sunday submission window, your payment may be delayed and processed the following week instead.
Take before-and-after photos of each job — this helps you get positive reviews and helps resolve any client concerns quickly.
Increasing Your Percentage

You can negotiate an increase to your percentage split above the standard 60–70% by presenting either of the following to Aloha Maids:

A valid business license, or
Proof of liability insurance

This flexibility is part of what makes you an independent business owner, not just a service provider.

7. Your Responsibilities as an Independent Worker

As an independent contractor, you are responsible for providing your own:

Vehicle (transportation to and from jobs)
Cleaning supplies
Equipment

You also have the freedom to:

Upsell additional services directly to your clients
Negotiate your pay — with clients directly, or with the agency

Once verified, our team can adjust your percentage terms going forward. Reach out to your regional support number to start that conversation.

8. Final Step: Complete Your Onboarding Form

Before you begin taking jobs, please complete the final onboarding form here:

This step is required to finish your onboarding and activate your profile.

Welcome to the Aloha Maids team — we’re glad to have you, and we’re here to support your success.
