Deep Clean Those Invisible Areas of Your Floor Now!

A clean and organized living space can positively affect mental health, reducing stress and promoting a sense of order and well-being. A clean space is more visually appealing and can contribute to the longevity of your furniture and flooring by preventing damage from accumulated debris. And just because it’s unexposed, doesn’t mean under a bed is exempted from the necessity of cleaning.

Dust, pet dander, and other allergens accumulate under the bed over time. Regular cleaning helps reduce these allergens, which can improve air quality and decrease respiratory issues and allergies. Crumbs and other debris can attract pests such as insects and rodents. Cleaning under the bed helps prevent infestations. So let’s deep clean under the bed this weekend…

  1. Move furniture away from the walls. So much dirt hides under desks, couches, and dressers, and routine floor maintenance often skips these hard-to-reach areas. If you can’t move heavy furniture, make it a point to use a duster or slim profile vacuum cleaner to get to these spots.
  1. If possible, remove furniture from the room. For instance, move your dining chairs into a different room so you don’t have a bunch of chair legs blocking clear access to your kitchen floors.
  1. Consider giving your baseboards a quick swipe with a duster or sponge before you begin on your floors. Dusty baseboards detract from the impact of clean floors. Plus, dusting them off before cleaning the floors gets any dislodged baseboard dirt off the floors.
  1. Use the right tools to make the job as efficient, effective, and damage-free as possible. For instance, a damp mopping method will certainly get your floors cleaner than any dry method, but wood floors should never be exposed to too much moisture. The popular and versatile O-Cedar Spin Mop is my favorite for both wet mopping my tile floors and using a barely damp mop to clean our LVP flooring.
  1. Consider dealing with dirty grout if you have tile floors. Cleaning grout is no one’s favorite, but the effect of clean grout on the overall appearance of your tiled floors is dramatic. If you have the time and energy, consider cleaning your grout as part of your kitchen or bathroom floor refresh.

If the above tips are not doable, maybe due to time or just a weekend plan, best to call a house cleaning service and get them all done!
